As you know each year I attempt to participate in running/walking/jogging/crawling my way in completing the race. I do this not only to bring awareness about addiction recovery\, but also to raise funding so that FFR can provide addiction recovery support to individuals and their families at NO COST to them. This is a great introduction into Trail Running with some beautiful single track trails through the forest. This will be a pretty easy course for you to stretch out your legs and get the footwork in on some nice trails in a fairly small town. \nThis race will take you around some cool ponds\, through beautiful forested single track trails\, and a unique mini but very cool covered bridge. I really wanna show off what a great town Sandy\, Oregon is with the trails that we have here. I very much Love having these trails to run and train on and I really hope you appreciate and enjoy them too! \nThis race will be 100% local\, meaning it will support the local community and businesses. This race will also be 100% green which means no cups\, no mess\, leave nothing but our footprints. This will not be a great way to experience a fun 5k introducing yourselves to new trails\, new locations\, and making new friends. \nNew this year a 10k\, one hour & two hour!\nNow how this works is since it’s about a one mile loop. For both the one out and two hour you will run as many loops as you can from the time you start for one hour or two hours. If your half way through on the course and the hour is up then the last full time you went through will be the last counted lap. Every other loop past the finish time will not count. \nBoth range 10k and the one hour will be prices the same. The 10k you will run the laps six times. The 5k three times.\nThere will be prizes for most number of laps for both the one hours and the two hour. There will also be random raffle prizes for each runner who participates. SUMMARY:Vancouver Lake Half Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Vancouver Half Marathon Race Info \nTime:  February 25th\, 2018. The race begins at 10:00 AM on Reiger Road in front of the Park.  There is no early start.  The course officially closes at 1:15 PM (3:15 half marathon). The race will be limited to 475 entries due to limited parking. \nParking.  There is limited parking so we strongly encourage carpooling. \nCourse:  The course is very flat.  It begins on Reiger Road in front of the park.  You run north for 1.5 miles  to the turnaround ( look for reflectors in road) . You come back south on Reiger road all the way past the park and turn right onto bike path.  Follow bike path all the way to Frenchman’s bar.  Turn around at the bathrooms.  Follow the exact same route back to Vancouver Lake and to the same turnaround (at the reflectors).  Run back on the left side of the road to bike path right past the park.  Turn left onto bike path.  Follow bike path to far north picnic shelter.  The course will be well marked and there will be mile markers at each mile.  Look for orange cone at each mile. \nPacket Pick-up: Packet pick-up will be on the day from  8:30 AM and ends at 9:45 AM.  We will also have an optional packet pickup on Saturday\, February 24th at Vancouver Lake from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. All packets that are not picked up by 10:00 am will become property of CCRC including the shirts. \nRegistration: The cost is $35.00 for ONLINE registration (plus $4 service fee) and $40.00 for mail-in if registration is received on or before January 1st\, 2017.  After that date\, the cost for mail-in registrations increase to $45.00 (T-Shirts are extra).  For ONLINE registration click HERE. \nClothing Check: There will be clothing check on Reiger road right by the start.  Also\, you will running by clothing at the 3 mile mark.  You can also drop your clothes off then. \nT-shirts: Tech t-shirts will be available for $15 (XXL are $18).  The tech t-shirt made of moisture wicking material. \nAwards:   Finishers medals will be presented to all half marathon finishers.  Awards will be presented to the top six males and females in each division in the Half Marathon (including walk division). Awards ceremony is at 12:45 pm\, but you may be able to pick up your award early.  Awards will NOT be mailed out. \nFinisher medals. Every finisher will receive a medal with the race logo. \nPort-a-pots:  There will be 10 Port-a-pots at the start and finish.  There will also be some along the course at mile 3\, 5\, 7\, 9 & 11. \nWater Stops:  There will be water at mile 3\, 5\, 7\, 9 & 11. There will be no sports drinks. \nFood:   Several CCRC members will be bringing home made cookies which this race is famous for.  We will also have bagels\, gummy bears\, pretzels and other treats.
